What inspired you to start your business? How did your business get started?
I started the business in 2003. I had been saving my money for the purpose of opening a cafe for 5 years. When I saw the old Northampton fire station for lease, I knew it was time!
Tell us a little bit about your business. The Woodstar Cafe is a bakery, sandwich shop and espresso bar rolled into one. We focus on quality ingredients (lots of organics, no GMO’s and many ingredients are grown right on our farm) and quality service. We want the cafe to be a bright spot in everyone’s day.
What is your favorite thing to do in your business?
My favorite thing is creating new recipes. Last year we added smoothies to the menu and the response has been terrific. I also like the challenge of incorporating local produce into our baked goods.
If nothing else, what is the one piece of information you want someone to know about your business?
We are totally committed to good, clean food!
