I opened the Amherst store on Friday the 13th 2007. An auspicious day! With a focus on handmade, I handpick every item in the stores, focusing on Fairly Traded and American made craft. In an effort to accommodate as many budgets as possible I strive to have moderately priced, high quality work that has been ethically sourced, on display.
An appreciate customer once said the store had “A gallery feel with gift shop prices”
What is your favorite thing to do in your business?
I love the diversity of tasks that the store provides me; ordering, cleaning, bookkeeping, merchandising, scheduling, etc. Working with customers is always a treat. Trying to find the perfect item for a particular occasion can often be a fun challenge, but I even enjoy the office work.
If nothing else, what is the one piece of information you want someone to know about your business?
Customer service, personal relationships and stellar product is why I have a thriving business. My team constantly does their best to offer shoppers the assistance and product offerings that they can’t easily find elsewhere,
What is the one piece of business advice you would like to share?
If we aren’t all having fun, we aren’t doing it right!
