Friends of Children
Jane Lyons, Executive Director
It shouldn’t happen, but there are children in our area who hurt. They’ve been abused or neglected. They have special needs that go unmet. Parents and public institutions are supposed to take care of them. When they don’t, Friends of Children provides a strenuous advocacy voice until their needs are met.
Friends of Children reaches hundreds of children and youth each year. With two professional staff, we rely on trained and supported community volunteers to provide advocacy through our CASA program. Board members and other volunteers make sure that all services -including Foster Dignity and Seeing Their Voices- are available to children and youth.
As we enter our 25th year, we are more determined than ever to help vulnerable kids have safe and productive futures. It truly does take a village to raise a child. We are delighted to be a part of this one!
