What inspired you to start your business? How did your business get started?
I was looking for a seasonal business that built its’ reputation on exceptional customer service. I found that Liberty Tax and its founder John Hewitt embodied the type of community-centered business philosophy I wanted to promote in the Valley.
Tell us a little bit about your business.
Liberty Tax is now centered in Amherst at 373 Northampton Road, Route 9, Amherst, but we’re expanding to four locations for the upcoming tax season with a new office on King Street in Northampton and two kiosks in both the Northampton and Hadley Walmart stores. Liberty supports the community by hosting six free tax return weeks during late February and March for the following groups: Military and Vets, Teachers, Police and Firefighters, Hospital Staff, Health and Fitness Staff and Volunteer and Non-Profits. These free return weeks are Liberty’s way of giving back to the community and to give new clients a way to sample our quality service. Liberty Tax of Amherst, Northampton and Hadley will employ over 40 part-time employees this tax season as Tax Preparers, Managers, Marketers and Costumed Wavers. We’re excited about or expansion and look forward to providing our customers with tax preparation services that are unmatched in the Pioneer Valley.
What is your favorite thing to do in your business?
Visiting local nearby businesses in costume to see how we can help to promote each others products and services. Liberty is proud to work with the surrounding business community and network by offering our partners services to our customers. We distribute coupons, flyers and special announcements to these businesses and in turn ask that they allow us to promote their products and services in our offices. This tax year we’re very excited to be able to offer our business partner specials to our customers via a web-based application that provides coupons directly to our clients that they can choose from while we prepare their taxes. It’s another one of the many ways that Liberty seeks to promote local businesses to our customers throughout the tax season.
If nothing else, what is the one piece of information you want someone to know about your business?
Liberty Tax of Amherst, Hadley and Northampton has one main goal- to provide our customers with the best tax preparation services in the Pioneer Valley.
